As a mid-career creative
re-entering the sector, Nina welcomes opportunities for collaboration, conversation and creative exchange.

I'd love to hear from you

Nina Bhirangi-Bishop is a playwright, poet and creative whose work explores belonging, identity and connection through emotionally driven contemporary storytelling. She has a particular interest in applied theatre, participation and community-led  practice.

Nina originally trained at Arts Educational Schools London, and her background as both an actor and youth worker continues to shape the way she works and collaborates.

Following a period away from the creative sector, Nina worked extensively within youth and community settings, where she developed a  passion for working with young people, centred around mental health &  wellbeing, inclusion and social action. She has run youth theatre programmes and worked in arts participation and community engagement projects. Nina has also coordinated inclusive theatre experiences for families facing financial barriers to accessing the arts, through Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) funded programmes.

Returning to theatre-making after cancer, Nina had  a renewed sense of artistic identity and purpose. She is passionate about aligning creativity with care, participation and lived experience. Alongside her writing, she facilitates creative writing workshops for young people, facilitating brave spaces that encourage confidence, self-expression, risk-taking &  authenticity.

Nina is particularly committed to amplifying underrepresented voices on stage, especially young people and global majority communities whose stories are often overlooked within mainstream theatre or creative practice.

Guided by values of equality, innovation and activism, she is committed to creating work and spaces where people feel seen, heard and included and strives to make work that is  representative and rooted in genuine human connection.
